Jason Wu is an active music educator, tuba player, and aspiring composer from the Greater Philadelphia Area. He is currently the Lower and Middle School Instrumental Music Teach at the Westtown School in West Chester, PA, where he teaches band and general music. As a music educator, Jason has had the opportunity to teach in many diverse settings engaging with students of all backgrounds and abilities. Being a tuba player, Jason has performed in multiple large and small ensembles, like the Philadelphia Wind Symphony and Temple University Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble, among others. Jason is a graduate of the Boyer College of Music and Dance at Temple University, where he studied tuba with Jay Krush and holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education.

Jason’s philosophy and method around music education are not only about teaching “music” but also focused on creating a meaningful musical experience for all students. He believes that all learning should have the students' best interest in mind so that each lesson can both be meaningful and successful. Which has allowed him to build and communicate more clearly with both students and parents. Music Education for Jason was not only a career path but also a driving force in his life. He believes that high-quality music education should be accessible for all students and learners regardless of their background, race, religion, or social-economical class. Music to Jason is about building community and connecting people from all around the world through the shared experience of “music”, regardless of the type or genre of music, as all music is music.
